Everyone has been asking when raining season is going to kick in, as the weather has been unseasonably calm for this time of year (that's me in the garden enjoying my breakfast yesterday). It seems that today we have our answer, as it hasn't stopped raining all feckin day!

We Have a Roof!!!

We finally got the roof on the bar (though not the cottage), and all has been quiet for the last few days. Hope it's not the calm before the storm!
There's still work to be done, as we need to fix the attic and finish the exterior, but it's a good start, and more importantly, it keeps the rain out.

After ego-surfing around Google, I just discovered this nice review about our bar. Nice, but strange, as it mentions our "freshly brewed beers" and "fine selection of cocktails" ....

After an interesting visit with the attorney, we have resumed construction on our roof, with no further trouble from those corrupt local officials so far. Last week, one Barangay 'policeman' even had the nerve to try to tell us that we needed a special permit to repair our roof - a lie which our attorney quickly put straight. The work is almost finished now, thankfully, as the weather has taken a turn for the worse.
Out of interest, tonight is a "blue moon", which occurs relatively rarely when there are two full moons in one month. I was hoping it would happen during summer when we were still having our full moon parties as it's quite a novelty. We have a long wait till the next one!

I love what George Carlin had to say about religion:

"If you break any of these ten rules, God will send you to a place where you will burn, and suffer, and scream in torment forever and EVER! ...

But he loves you."
