Beautiful Sunset in Malay

Sadly our dear little cat Taco was savaged and killed yesterday by the vicious monster dogs from Sundown Restaurant. He didn't stand a chance.

This bizarre looking critter is known as a coconut crab, and can occasionally be found on sale by a beach vendor. Always keen to try new foods (such as locusts, balut, monitor lizard, rabbit, goat etc), I couldn't resist giving it a go...

The crab turns from black to a reddish colour after cooking, and the meat is mostly in the claws. Despite the tail looking plump and promising like a lobster's tail, there was only goey brown gunk inside!
