As the sun sets over another beautiful day in Boracay, I sip my San Miguel and thank my lucky stars that I have somehow managed to find a way to live here. It's not always easy, but it's worth it!
I spent the afternoon on the beach with friends, chatting, making jewellry and watching the world go by, while Joey took some guests out for a sunset cruise on the boat.
After a nice dinner and chat in Mario's restaurant, I'm now planning to spend the rest of my evening hanging out at the bar. PD is attempting to teach me how to play backgammon, poor guy!
I've heard it said before (and can confirm that it's true) that Boracay is one of those places in the world where you can have only one thing on your 'to do' list for the day, and still not manage to get anything done!
Ah well, Confucious say "It doesn't matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop..."

As the 'high season' is finally here (and Boracay is filling up with tourists), Joe and I are glad that we've finally finished decorating the bar. Co-ordinating the carpenters was a mission in itself, but finally the job is done. I'm so happy to have painted over those hideous blue walls!
Our little boat was also treated to an overhaul, and is now booked solidly every day with tourists exploring the island. We are still desperately trying to avoid being forced to display the ugly corporate telecom logos on our sails (despite repeated threats from the sailing association that our membership will be revoked if we fail to comply). We refuse to make our 'paraw' (native outrigger sailboat) look that ugly - it's a matter of principle! There's also a rumour that all sailboats will soon have to be painted white - I sense another battle coming on....
So apart from the nuisance of the stinky BBQ stand next door, we've been having a great time, though perhaps not finding enough time to spend with each other at the moment...
